Textbook Reservations: For the Fall and Second Summer Semester, any student of Neumann College can reserve their books for pick up at the College Store when they arrive on campus. Please follow the directions and provide reliable contact information. Orders will generally be available the day after they are placed online if the session is in progress. For the Fall Semester, boxes will be packed beginning on August 10th*. If a course or book is not listed on the site, please type in the course prefix and number in the comments section when you complete the order. We will pack your box with whatever missing textbooks are available. The reason a book may not be listed on the site is that we have not received an order for the book from the professor or department head at the time of your order.
*Fall Semester books are being packed, beginning on August 10th, because it takes all Summer for publishers to deliver these books. Neumann currently has a 500 title book list.
The College Store is committed to providing the best value for the customer's we serve. When selecting textbooks please keep in mind that although a used textbook price may be listed on the site, this does not necessarily mean that a used textbook is in stock. The College Store will ALWAYS send a used book instead of a new book when this is indicated on the order. However, if a customer selects used books only, we may not be able to fill the order.
The College Store wants to buy and sell as many used books as possible. It is a better value for the student and a better use of the college's resources. The mark up on a used book is the same percentage as a new book. This mark up is set by publishers and wholesalers. To be in line with the rest of the College Store market, Neumann College sets prices at or below this line.
The college uses a book wholesaler to purchase the books from students. By using a book wholesaler more books can be bought back from students. Wholesalers take books that the college can no longer use, and sell those unneeded books to other colleges and universities.
Book Buy Back is always conducted during final exam weeks at the end of the Spring and Fall semesters. |
